The White House AI Pivot: 180-Day Action Plan, Deregulation, and a Global-Leadership Mandate

If your compliance logic lives inside your business logic, every rule change becomes a production hotfix. Do that three times and you’ll start updating your resume.
Then there’s infrastructure. Government AI expansion usually comes bundled with data center and energy policy, which means model selection isn’t just about benchmarks anymore — it’s about whether compute supply is stable and whether energy costs might spike. Model choice used to be “which one has the best F1 score.” Now it’s “what year does this provider’s electricity contract run through?” Your CTO might need to start taking meetings with energy companies.
And here’s the most counterintuitive part: the teams that survive won’t be the fastest. They’ll be the ones that can be audited. Fast iteration, traceable decisions, AND the ability to explain your choices to regulators and customers — all three at once. Speed and transparency aren’t a tradeoff. They have to coexist.
